what are your guy's best, or worst deaths?

the top 3 ones I have are:
He was killed by a greater moloch on the first level of some strange dwarven caves.

--gotta love entering right next to that guy, died before I could even leave :/

He pretrified himself by eating a gorgon corpse on level 1 of an ancient pyrmid

--never gonna eat one of those agan, lol

and

He was killed by Yrrigs, the writhing mass of primal chaos, in the small village dungeon on level 4
-- the path up to jarod had a lot of chaos trapps...and there was one right next to jarod too :/
stupid chaos trap.... X(

I'm sure somebody has a death that topps mine, but those are my biggest...uh...achievements in that area

One early one:
"He was roasted in the bastement of the tower of eternal flames"

--Went a bit too far before I noticed his hitpoints were all but gone hrm.

"He was killed by Yrrigs, the writhing mass of primal chaos, in the small village dungeon on level 4"

I'd like to see Jharod try to heal *that*

Anyway...

He was sacrificed by a kobold to his gods on level 5 of the caverns of chaos.

That must've happened to me at least half a dozen times. Now I'm paranoid as all hey-ell around chaotic altars. I never go for more than one pre-crown with 'em.

I had this very promising high elf fighter. Crowned with the BoW, slashing through just about everything with ease due to very generous spending in a certain gym. And then he came to a river surrounding a certain place of importance, only to find the other side of the river crowded with various critters. Now, insted of just firing arrows at them with impunity, our brave elf thought he would swim over, kill one of them, step onto dry land on the now empty tile and melee them to death.

He drowned...

I just got this one a few minutes ago. I was standing there, casting cure light wounds upon myself to cure sickness (had just eaten a kobold shaman corpse to get the +1 Mana) and then accidently slipped, pressed the wrong button, and used a wand of digging beneath myself.

Rufus, the gray elven wizard, broke his neck in a self-made hole.

That's pretty dumb to me. Next time, I'll pay more attention to what I'm doing.

Very promising character, AOLS, herb garden thoroughly abused. Spell list getting nice and long, invisible, Teleport etc.
Had eaten Blink Dog corpse
etc you get the idea, this one was going places.

Found a black altar (Dark Elf Wizard).
Locked all doors, wanted to start by checking the status of my gear, stepped onto the altar.

On that very move, a pixie teleported in !!!!

I was on a train at the time, very packed carriage. My "comments" caused a lot of heads to turn in my direction.

Oh, one more.
Started with a wizard.
Walked down to Teryino, entered the town, Immedately started to read my spell books. The first read of Acid Ball "Partially" drained my health. 17hp --> -1.

Must be the quickest death ever for a serious attempt.

Stone Block Traps have killed a lot of my early good potential characters. Usually when I have found something very good early game the RNG decided to turn against me and kill me :/

Picking up a ROTHK and then walking back on the ice bridge. Suddenly a Si is created in my backpack and the ice bridge I was walking on suddenly cracks and I plunged to my death to the chaos pirhanas :(

Having a white bolt literally fly out of nowhere from a ogre magus and freezing you to death in one hit. Lost 3 good ironman characters to this baddie

Yeah, that's what happens when you're strained!

I had an amusing one this morning. Not so much for the actual death, but for what this poor little guy went through.

A gray eleven wizard, in the ID, building himself up. Walked over a firetrap, whick took me from full health (36), down to 14. Got up to around twenty and then met a large kobold. Got dropped to 4, but managed to kill him. Waited for a while to get my health up. Got to just over 10, and then a goblin entered. Killed the goblin, and managed to regain full heatlh. Walked along further and fell down a hole. Cue damage and vipers. Killed the vipers but got poisoned. No healing spells, so drank potions, and luckily had a cure poison. Walked a bit more to try and find the exit and then found a door. Kicked it open and it exploded. I survived that, and saw the door. Ran for the door, I ran like hell. Two steps before the door, I got hit by a falling rock and died. Poor little guy. Just wasn't meant to be I guess.

The most stupid way of dying I have ever experienced, was when my level 22 human wizard Broke his leg by kicking at the wall...

It was rather surprising to se his life drop from about 100 to -239716.

He died a swift death...

Killing someone is always a winning argument...

I had a floating eye paralyze me, a corpse fiend sicken me, a claw bug striking bleeding wounds all at the f***king same time.

Stupid monsters and their new-learnt ability to form parties. What are they thinking of next? Class levels?

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, the corpse fiend scored the kill ;)
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

1) A promising barbarian. Lot of red worms generated in big room. Just kept the up key pressed to kill them, suddenly got a msg saying you die :)
I had managed to get their exp increased to such high lvl.
2) A monk wore ring of weakness and kicked the wall. Died instantly with a broken leg.
3) Numerous times killed myself with magic missile bouncing of a corner :)

Well, my top deaths are as follows:
a) getting critically-hit by a doppleganger king for 600 HP after killing the cat lord, clearing the bug temple, the assassin guild,

b) deciding to take off my monk's blessed girdle of greed and switch a girdle of carrying on instead. Too bad I just happened to be carrying 800 million gold pieces

c) this one is the saddest. Worked hard for an ultra with a char, had toiled a lot for a wish, eventually found a wand with 3 charges in momma dragon's lair, i save in Dwarftown, quit the game so as tu be sure the server's made an update, give amulet to Khelly and then WHAM, game crashes, and, to my horror, the server, for some unfathomable reason, had decided NOT to automatically back up my char, so I lost him :(

Recent Unbelievably Stupid Death:

Ultra aspiring archer hit level 50 killing Nuurag-Vaarn in the Mana Temple. Cooked and blessed the corpse, decided to clear the temple (I have no idea why), sauntered right into the middle of the pack, got utterly surrounded by chaos dudes, some of whom I had killed very many of already, thought I could easily Execute my way out. Finger down on the keyboard and, far and away the most powerful PC I ever lost to a '444444444444444444...' death :-(

Going for a semi-speedy victory, I decided to tackle the dwarvern halls. Figured with a wand of teleportation charged, teleport control, lucky and fate smiles, blessed, and on coward mode, I could at least teleport out and go through the forest if I saw anything difficult..... *Sigh*... whoever said the dwarvern halls are ever, *ever* safe... This message log says it all:

Best attempt so far at beating this game:
A level 19 priest, crowned with robes of the saint and having done everything up to Khelvaster including Gremlin Caves, Pyramid, all Thundrrar quests and UD(also all the smaller quests).Wielding Scorched spear and Sting, 17 artifacts generated. Was doing ID stairs for a ball spell to kill two molochs who I had spawned in DH, but managed to spam my neck broken on the stairs.

What it says in my signature.

I managed to randomly teleport onto an altar and get sacrificed by a goblin rockthrower somewhere on D:6.

Not strictly speaking a death, but I just went down the PC with a promising gray elf wizard, whizzed down all six levels (and *up* six levels), found the cute dog right next to the down staircase, didn't realize what I was seeing, and let loose with a lightning bolt thinking it was a silver wolf.

AAARGH.
