I think (with my severly limited Deutschisch) that he just said that his last post was meant to come after Silfir's.

Yeah, lets all just be friends and sing Kum-ba-yah around the campfire.

Shakespeare did not write correct English. In fact he invented a great number of new words which all therefore were 'incorrect' to use.

Back on track - before this turns into language 101.

Ireth will be going for an Ultra win, won't she? So just prepare for that. Eating corrupting corpses I wouldn't do.

And allow me to say, firstly that this is a most impressive idea/thread and a darn good read. Well done.

Secondly it is a most impressive game. I mean, elf merchant, can you say 'dead meat'? Very nice playing. People must be learning tons of stuff from this. Because even someone as perfect as I am learning. Ignore irony in that last sentence.

luckily bunny didn't comment my english...

As far as ending goes: rest asured you will be able to pick your own ending.
As far as corruption goes. two of the endings require chars to be quite corrupted. If i will have to have this stuff i prefer to earn some benefits in process.

Silfir: I have now idea that you call enough to win a game. Currently Ireth is at st26/wi26/le30/dx/28+bracers/to-26+robes/mana-23.

i don't feel very safe. Not endangered enough to gulp a couple stashed PoGA. But i give serious thought on this topic periodically.

p.s. i have pathologically busy weekend. I actually found some time to play and that is sunday morning 7AM with soda water in left hand.
hopefully i will have enough time to write something as very soon my RL will kick in again.

Part VIII The ChAoS side

For tenth time of asking city council said no.
We left the emperors corpse to mark the entrance to the entrance of maze and proceeded back to Caverns of chaos. IDing and selling crap revealed quarterstaff of penetration. Sigh, but it is too late. Hopefully Ireth will meet some gray daggers.
Dwarven elder: “Yes. I sense it, you killed evil necromancer.”
Ireth: “What? It was your twin brother?”
Elder: ”Every family has some dark secrets. I will open portal for thou.”
Ireth: “You surely have some donations to my beauty.”
And surely he has - wand of fireballs/5 potions of extra healing/wand of digging.
Ireth tries some spellbooks and uncursed one of Knock is gone before she is able to memorize something.
Down we go. D:20 is full of water and Ireth claims to feel some tension.
Tension room is mixed featuring chaos spawn. Well, we don’t give to freak any breading chances.
Ireth denies plan to enter temple while invisible she stealthly as true elf walks in and we reach chaos servants without waking anyone.
Some bashing later we get nobody alive and outside. Since non of us is too eager to enter small temple we open it with blessed one of digging. Third column from the right. Such a maneuver gives us some space and to exits. We smash remains of temple including snake without any problems. Pick up remains, retreat, zap door in corridor and lock it. We pretty sure none will follow us, but it is still good idea.
We move up again and sell corpse to dwarf ‘s shop.
We also scratch 00k for one more point of strength. (Currently at 24).
Ireth announces us being officially broke here.
Since we need money or stuff to sell we go to dig up more graves and guess what we got?
Bloody freaking hydra in da middle of graveyard.
That one exactly brings level 25(okay I killed couple of extra vampires for this to happen).
Dodge is dead on 60 so we take 2xsmithing(100), 5x backstabbing.
Willpower gets fixed and strength no. Stupid greedy dwarven trainer.
Ireth turns invisible and starts digging
Get master lich summon wights
We get to lich kings. Each time we wand teleport away and shoot them. (Yes I am diging with poickaxe. Freaking lack of recharges and four wands of teleportation versus two empty wands of digging).
Five more master liches. One more wight corpse giving no toughness.
And we find gray dagger, given lv6 in daggers we got from trying use hunting one that is good.
We also find wand of poison and book of acid bolt.
D21-bees, kick, kill and found no jellie.
D22 – we enter dungeon of sorrow. We also get room full of clay golems. And tension room of werewolf and his friends.
We inspect corpses leaving out fomorian giant, eat one more wight get one more miss on toughness.
Ireth uses some wax, nut Banshee manages to perform suicide in blind rage.
Ireth mutters something about poor girl and stupid males.
D23-firendly white dragon which we “accidentally” hit with arrow. We need both money and stuff.
D24: Ireth founds first random shop (and I always thought merchants are good in finding shops).
This one is of scrolls owned by a drake. Assortment is very poor and we buy it off.
We met second hydra, I say some sweet words to RNG.
My words are heard above as in next room we met dopleganger king.
Ireth gives some doubts about killing such a beauty as her own, but one round next to king changes her mind.
We retreat load, load crystals of fire into our sling of long shot. That one gives extra range.
Ireth: “Hey, you human, sling doesn’t work with crystals.”
Surely it does. Only you need first to take out missile weapon, put crystals in tool slot and get sling as missile weapon.
We switch to water orb for extra power and aim just before the legs of dopleganger.
Five crystals later the bugger is gone. We buy off shop again, promoting drake’s business and proceed down.
D28:
Ireth “What’s up with numeration?”
Me “Direct intrusion of chaos.”
- gorgon drops corpse and we eat while protected from petrification. Just because I heard it is possible to gain petrification resistance that way.
D27- drops on Ireth black slayer and second dopleganger king. Former is not problem and later takes five more crystals. Ireth also crosses wall of flames. After the tower that is not a problem.
D26 we found forge and karmic dragon which goes down from arrows of slaying.
D25 Ireth is very excited so I zap wand of monsters detection - daemons and hounds, also we detect items in case some artifact is generated. We get no artifacts and no problems. Ring of ice and keeping distance from the only greater daemon helps a lot.
D29: yet another karmic dragon moves us to level 26: swimming(100)/4xpick lock(100)/2xhagling
Ireth: “Great. Another stupid guy blocking stairs. Can we simple save his brain from functioning with some arrows?”
Me: “We better do it correct way, mistress.”
Eternal guardian: “Only the ones with permission of High King may pass bellow.”
Ireth: “You want us to find necromancer who will raise him from dead? Or giving directions to his grave will be enough.”
Me whispers: “Show him a ring, mistress”
Ireth shows the ring from backpack.
Guardian: “That way doesn’t count.”
Ireth: “What? May be your eyesight will improve than you will have your eyes removed? |How I hate the dwarves.”
Me: ”Put it on you finger, mistress.”
Luckily big guy is gone.
D30-unexiting, we bash high level mimic with no problem due to intrinsic resistance to paralysis.
D31: casino Ireth drags all stuff to corner (fire orb + girdle of carrying)
We bless ID and drop stuff. Pick up wanted items, check prices, make second pile.
We have no artifacts, no wishes, no shield better than current (9,6) medium crystal.
That we got is AoLS, humanoid slaying ammo (28 pieces total), some dragon slaying ammo, potion of cure corruption.
Total cost 740.000 in gold
We bless potion of education and it lands on… Athletics… well we need it to reach 70 to start gaining speed. Given our success in dodge…
Ireth: “We will never make enough money for that stuff. Costs are insane.”
Me: “We just need to find right machine.”
Ireth: “Between all this flashing lights. I doubt we have a chance.”
Me: “Same row as shop entrance, fourth from right. My grandpa said it was the wicked one.”
We play get rich and shop in.
Ireth groans as we again see some mob blocking stairs. This time we just bookcast teleportation and he is gone.
Ireth: “Soira, why you droping gold?”
Me: “Mistress, remember we discussed dragon gold problem.”
Ireth: “Sure, I decided merchants do not need false gold.”
Me: “Well, Casino’s are just modern version of dragons. Big, greedy and relentless.”
Ireth: “Okay.”
So we leave remains of gold on stairs(on entering we had only 15.000gp so that is not a loss.)
As we descend we get undead vault on D:32.
We get few more corpses which refuse to raise Ireth’s toughness. Instead she gains second corruption attunement to astral planes.
We show ourselves in d33 but as even I sense immediate immense tension we retreat.
We move to darkforge from bellow, slowly moving to dwarftown.
Ireth: “Have your stupid hydra, dwarf.”
Elder: “That a fine addition to my collection. I will identify your stuff.”
Ireth: “I know my tuff pretty good already. Does that mean there will be no gifts for my valor?”
Elder:”Sure, sure. I just need berseker prince’s head on the west wall. Between quickling queen and ogre king it would...”
Ireth “That crazy guy wants me to hunt a royalty… I show him how the hunt looks like.”
Before I manage to make some exuces to dwarven elder Ireth is gone.
I found her one level higher, clothes in dwarf blood and strange fire in her eyes. And she whispers a real god is the violent one, Ni'Pregh.
Me: “Maybe we speak to ratling before you slaughter rest of town, mistress?”
Ireth: “He refused to talk, claiming I am the wrong type of person. Maybe it is his turn to die.”
Me: “I’m pretty sure he will be more friendly now. And he doesn’t like dwarfs either.”
Ireth: “I’ll give him a chance.”
A minute later:
Ireth: “Six artifacts? You crazy rat, do you imagine a cost?”
Me: “Crown of Chaos, mistress. Don’t thou want that?”
Ireth: “Is it good?”
Me: “Absolutely gorgeous.”

We gave away:
Minotaur’s axe
Long sting
Phial of Caladriel
Sword of Nonnak
Scorched spear (mithril mayhem has better damage output even befire any smithing)
Moon sickle (we have no current need in potions of raw chaos.)

I stop further slaughterhood by mentioning we need to hurry towards the stone circle. Before leaving we bless spelbook of stun ray and Ireth masters it.
We reach stone circle on an nice day 89, 11 AM.
We spend remaining 36 hours hunting in mountains for stone giants, which results in point of strength.
Under the moonshine in the middle of darknight we enter the circle.

We stab knights, shoot annihilator, lure off one purple jelly. But another annihilator manages to grab our perfect diadem of beauty. Enraged Ireth teleports in the middle of circle, evades purple dargon’s acid breath, blinds him with preserved potion.
As she loads some dragon slayers and epic battle begins I feel in need to consult with council again.

Either in this fight or very soon afterwards Ireth will gain level 27.
Which talent path should we choose?
Potent aura leads to some magical abilities.
On other hand we already had some problems with damage output in last vault of undead. Clearly I can’t smith spear much further. Maybe we will abuse phasing dagger with rings of slaying, but some extra damage would be nice.

Part IX Blind ducks

Elf, bow, slaying arrows and a blind target – have you got any doubts?
It took twelve shots and one chaos powered teleport, which allowed to get away from these annoying writhing masses.
Ireth did take level 27.
We get dodge(great moved to 61)/athletics/5xhagling.
As talent we took aggressive. Still that is damage increase and potentially opens up more.
Whatever I said about her damage output she shoots dragons pretty well.
Especially blind ones worth half a million experience.
We drop crown at old barbarians glade and move to village to sell corpse of multiheaded dragon.
Hunt down boar. We also rebuy scrolls of danger from black market.
I talk Ireth to use crown of science and we hunt for a wild boars a bit.
Luckily first one drops skull so we do old crone’s quests, including farmer kill in HMW.

Ireth: “Chaos side really is cool. Such a sweet amulet. And boost to appearance.”
Me: “And purple skin. Also scales, horns and hooves.”
Ireth: ”Wait a bit… Purple doesn’t fit to my hair color. And hooves are so unelvish.” I can see some violet rage disappearing from her eyes. “Can we return everything back to normal?”
Sure we can.
Ireth drops medal oc chaos next to crown and we move to dwarftown once again.
We leave all stuff except money and thievepicks in our apartments. Ireth wields one goldpiece ant tries to sacrifice another one.
Ayssia is angry enough to turn our equipment to dust. Ireth wields gold again and sacrifices one coin more. Some repeated efforts later she manages to reach NC status. We also sacrifice rest of our money to please Ayssia again.
While Ireth rests after her days of rage I do some smithing. Mainly on mithril cap, gauntlets of strength and phase dagger. We also land some scrolls on dagger, some increase accuracy scrolls manage to work further than my smithing.
I mine a bit. And than smith a bit again. Unbelievably we were out of… iron.

We check casino restock which provides third pair of 7leagueboots.
We also rebuy scroll shop hoping to gain some scrolls of protection/defense/education.
D33 again: neither bunnies nor their master is a problem for our phase dagger. We also take care of ancient red dragon and zap quickling queen to death with acid.
D34: ireth locates second random shop. Troll selling scrolls. We are out of cash to buy his all stock, but we drop items to corner and buy a bit.
D35: We found cat lord neutral (thanks to AMW our only way to see invisble). But in few turnshe turns into hostile.
Ireth: “Go away pussy cat."
Cat lord quite successfully claws and bites her.
Ireth: “We as successfully balanced heroes will leave you in peace.”
Cat lord proves he can catch up with elven girl in seven league boots.
We strategically retreat to D34 taking him with us and bypassing teleport restrictions for this fight.
Seven fireballs from wands and two gulped extrahealing potions later he is panicking and running away.
We let him take some distance before Ireth loads some humanoid arrows into her bow of accuracy.
We get level up, taking athletics/2xhagling/disarm traps/3xfirst aid.
We also get girdle of giant strength from random vampire.
That takes care of Ireth’s strength but gives me new wories in form of DV/PV.
Without spear and with couple unsmithable items she does look quite vulnerable again.

Back on d35 fighting through room of corruptors gives us third chaos power - unholy aura. We immediately remove it with scroll losing astral attunement as well. Ireth claims it was free teleports but I insist they are way to random.
D36 gives us one more cavernous level and our hunting dagger gets a perfect thing - giant slug corpse.
On D37 we met neutral giant frog. I suppose Ireth does a bit talking with it, but all we hear is “Croak! Croak!”.
D38 gives us some ants and as we lock them while checking rest of level ants give us a bit of ore and gems.
D39 greets us with smell of ozone. We check open part, check room downtairs at D40 in case of emergency.
We also rearrange equipment and drop rest of stuff (except wand of diging and some emergency potions) on stairs in d38.
Ireth’s weapon of choice is phase dagger and she alos uses cloak of invisibility (with potions as backup ), rings of speed and slaying.
We wrench our wand till last charge to open up temple.
Ireth dances in slaying chaos servants and some minor stuff obstructing her way.
As we clear front of closed square of temple we retreat for food and equipment rearrangements.
Ireth’s claims about beauty problems leads us to idea to change AMW for quite superior robes of resistance. We also take some slaying ammo and potion of blindness(and one of confusion as plan B).
Ireth does detect traps in front of temple. (I suspect activating them would warn guys inside and maybe even let some of them to know our position despite invisibility.)
Ireth: “They are still behind wall, human.”
Me: “Do not underestimate power of chaos, mistress.”
We search for entrance. Waltz in and blind summoner. Luckily Ireth had sling of long shot and clear aim on him.
Poor guy manages summon only couple of wraiths.
We squeeze through inhabitants of temple and slice master summoner till death before he manages to get unblind or move somewhere. Pretty sad view and safe bunch of experience.
Ireth keeps killing mobs on altar and as soon as it is clear kicks stuff further away.
We make circle around altar of black altar and our enemy’s corpse.
Since elementals are not making huge fight Ireth decides to kill couple for experience.
One of buggers burns down our cloak and we switch for potions of invisibility in order to get out.

On way up Ireth gets level 30 – dodge/athletics/2xdisarm traps/haggling (100)/2xfirst aid. As talent we pick natural berserker. Well, Ireth spends pretty much time berserking anyway and it is increase in damage.

Without further incidents on this rather boring day we reach village.
We trade in summoner and dragon for potions. Ireth tries to track from where on earth druid gets these potions but even elven eyes don’t get the secret.
Druid is very happy as this time we don’t ransack his belongings. Druid mumbles something about noble creatures and a bit later we found some clearing in the forest.
Ireth raises her eyebrows, as she is sure there was no clearing before.
White unicorn: “Kill my evil twin.”
Ireth: “I never thought getting rid of your own brother is so lawful. Where is he anyway?”
Unicorn: “Glade next to this.”
Ireth: “Another glade? You are newcomers, right?”
Unicorn: “No glades stood here all the time. You just there too inexperienced to see them.”
Before Ireth gets in any problem I drag her to scorched and corrupting glade,
Before we reach black unicorn chaos powers kick in gain giving elf a horns. Despite Ireth’s claims to remove that nonsense immediately I think we will keep it for a while.
Surprise, surprise evil unicorn has contra offer.
Since none of them follow path of balance we need some advice.

Sounds like Ireth has collected plenty of corruption cleansing items already and scroll shops can be plundered for SoCRs. I reckon the PoGAs are worth it.

Ireth is going for Avatar of Balance? Then kill the white unicorn - she'll need to be extremely corrupted to pass through the chaos gate, so the white unicorn's cleansing is pointless for her IMHO.

Unless Ireth won't be leaving the Drakalor chain (see ending, ultra) in which case being cleansed of corruption doesn't really matter.

See ending, ultra? One day maybe. So far I have only ever seen ending, normal, although as Soirana is clearly much better at ADOM than I, I shall hope to see ending, ultra through Ireth.

I therefore vote for the PoGA. Is it too chaotic to kill someone who just gave you a powerful gift? - can't you kill the black one after you get given the Potions? He doesn't disappear or anything right? Balance may be served by the slaying of both U.

Part X Getting tougher

Council’s orders are quite clear – survival is better than some unicorns.
Ireth tries shooting white unicorn down but he is way too defensive so we use phase dagger and berserk tactics. One potion of extrahealing later we are done with quest and I see purple chaos fire in Ireth’s eyes again.
Black freak appears to be really happy with his brothers death. Ireth gets 7 PoGA and only one corruption - unholy aura it is.
We stab black unicorn from all deapth of our hearts and soon he starts running so we chase it a bit.
Ireth quaffs potion and we remove last corruption.
Just as we start blessing gain attribute potions I remember certain gambit involving intentional lowering of willpower and using bugs.
So we get to abandoned temple. We play a bit with bugs on surface. And teleport bypass some.
Ireth wakes killer bugs with shot from bow.
We take them a bit further and teleport on stairs.
Still one killer bug goes down with us.
Ireth zaps wand of fireballs (well charged with scrolls, orb of water in tool slot) like there is no tomorrow.
Pretty soon she is down to 150 hitpoints and bleeding all over the place.
“Couldn’t we keep that nice aura of 6dv? I don’t see any shopkeepers or sages near.”
“You better drink some more healing pots.”
One ultrahealing does his regular wonder and even brings eleven hitpoints to 400 mark. Ireth skillfully retreats to corridor and finishes three surviving bugs in melee.
We carefully proceed closing and locking all sidebranches.
Until the one near secret passage. Both pseudowalls disappear at once and Ireth is assaulted by killer bugs at once.
She uses simple tactics - retreat with 7league boots, use acid bolt in narrow corridor, use crystals of power to restore power points. Blessed crystals of power do wonders as does acid bolt.
Whatever fast bugs are they do not evade much of bolts.
I take depth breath as Ireth searches for an entrance to main chamber of a temple.
Since we of recharges again, Ireth uses acid bolt with crystals/scrolls of power. Unluckily I cannot charge her as good as wands goes. But with some retreats and crystals of health we clear the place.
To my surprise killer bugs damage Ireth’s mithril cap quite badly.
Once the room Ireth eats some corpses (5grand total, if we could use fire bolt instead of acid… )
Ireth makes really heroic action by smashing all the statues and taking rewards.
We try clearing couple more rooms of killer bugs, but gain is minor and danger - big.
Ireth ends on speed 117, dexterity – 31 and screwed on willpower.
We jump to dwarftown altar once again and Ireth plays some naked dances with only goldpieces in her hands until neutrality is rebuilt. We also spare some money to reduce anger of Ayssia.
As Ireth takes some rest I do some farm on stat herbs combining with ore mining.
Ireth starts chewing well dosed morgia and I switch to smithing.
As we pass by we notice dmented ratling standing on altar. Ireth raises her hands and poor mutant is consumed in gray fire. (well, I did believe none of dwarftown inhabitants can be sacrificed on that altar).
As we get bored we go to DH to read 7 scrolls of item creation and gain nothing better than blessed amulet of light.
Since we are very bored waiting for morgia to work we go to HMW check restock. And it has.. mithril scimitar of penetration.
I am not eager to switch weapon with level 30 character. On other hand I do believe I can smith it better than dagger of phasing. And it won’t be destroyed by acid trap and if we have to go for blue dragon caves.
First we need try smithing it. Mithril ore is over as scimitar reaches (+10,1d8+10) [1,0].
Do I need to comment my choices?
As Ireth’s willpower is back to pretemple values she proceeds gulping eleven blessed potions of gain attributes in a row.
Well, it is a time to read some books.
Ireth learn identify spell without problem, but spellbook of invisibility burst in fire and is destroyed.

Before going deeper we recheck shops including casino.
Ireth finds javelin of doom and ring of weakness. Tricky but useful stuff.
In the middle of shopping corruption kicks again, giving elf stiff muscles. That is no way corruption, which can be kept. One more potion of cure corruption is gone.
As we are done with scroll shops we bless and read scrolls of defense/protection over girdle of giant strength and 7leagueboots.
D38: we do succeed in killing random berserker prince.
D40: shows us quickling king. Ireth acid bolts him. Quicklings are similar to bugs, high DV combined with low magic defense.
D41: unremarkable.
D42: Ireth gets excited. Wand dtection reveals huge amount of blue dragons and room full off ogre emperors.
Emperors bring in lv31—athletics/disarm traps/7xsurvival(that is high level doom lot of skill raises and nowhere to put them).
As ogres are over we sneak towards blue dragons. We use position at corner of corridors to avoid extra lightning bolts and unnecessary destruction of dropped items. To my surprise ancient blue dragons do not give any problems to an elven merchant.
Chaos kicks again giving attunement to astral plains.
“And I thought chaos is not a boring type.” – Ireth Oronar.
Central hero of vault – named blue wyrm doesn’t like being bashed with sword of penetration at all so we have to chase him down. Chase is good enough to give Ireth Lv32 - atlhetics/disarm traps/2xfirst aid/2xsurvival/3xmettalurgy.
As dragons are also slaughtered we check gains - spelbooks of petrification/invisibility, ring of elemental mastery and wand of paralyzation are worth mentioning.
D43 appears to be stone cold earth temple. I dig deeper while Ireth deals with assaults of earth elementals. Shiny mithril sword is very effective indeed. Well, fact Ireth already has level 9 in swords doesn’t hurt either.
In such vein we hit Lv33-athletics/disarm traps/2xtwo weapon combat/5xmetalurgy. As talent I pick affinity to bows.
As we get closer to inner sanctum of temple we get massive ambush of grues, elementals and Ancient Stone beast itself.
We follow old elven saying “Sometimes it is better to be swift of foot, not sword” and retreat to stairs. That solves lot of problems since we manage not to fight more than three enemies at once.
A bit stair walking and bashing later Ireth paralyzes stone beast(from first charge, awesome) and runs with berserk rage to beat it.
Tough or not, but he went down in nine hits.
That gives us Level 34 -2xathletics/2xdisarm traps/first aid/two weapon combat (rest remains unused since we sit on max allowed in all skills).
As we slowly approach our village to trade one more corpse for potion of cure corruption, Ireth asks in a strange voice:
“What do you think of your worlds future, Soira?”
“I think, mistress, you will save us. At least I hope so.”
“That is certain. But which way you would like to be saved.”
“Choose your path, mistress.”
“Well, I do not see much difference what sort of goddess to be. All heaven must be reformed to fit my beauty anyway. And being queen of elves… That might be better than goddess of humans. I think once in our travels you and your stupid council could get some work done.”
Well, I decided not to mention smithing, mining I have done, or wise advises of village.

3. Ultimate chaos god – I’m sure that purple rage is not gone from her heart.
4. Avatar of balance – fits gray elf very much. Fits story as well.
5. Avatar of order – I see no pros on that one. Okay, I know practical pros (no pressure on corruptions) and I’m sure that is not that important.

For all of her arrogance and occasional greed, Ireth has never struck me as being particularly malevolent. I think an Avatar of Balance would be the most appropriate ending.

Well I already said I thought balance should be served. Through struggling to come to terms with her eventually extreme corruption (not the path of beauty), the arrogance and vanity of Ireth will turn closer to pride at her own fortitude. Or something. Avatar of Balance say I.

Part XI Final preparations

May be Ireth will go to goddess status at the end of this chapter, but we start with our basics – buying of HMW shop and move down to dwarftown sell that..
Ireth: “We delivered another head for your collection.”
Elder: “I’m so happy. I will show you secret stairs to a level there you can kill more enemies for a glory of dwarfs.”
Ireth: “And my reward?”
Elder: “Sorry, I used that wand to bake my lunch, but once we get access to an extra level I will pay you… 5000 in gold.”
Ireth goes away cursing neutrality, dwarfs and whole Ancardia as well.
Ogres level also contains some rooms of mimicsand grennhags.
Once these are gone we are back to dwarven elder.
Ireth: “Got something else to do?”
Elder: “I could use gnoll fur, my carpet is…”
But elevn merchant is already gone, moving up towards open wilderness.
We use javelin of doom a bit to force some barbarian ambushes and run around them. Ireth claims that is utterly silly and I say that should help to improve our dodging skills. Especially with most of stuff taken off to reduce DV.
We manage to catch stupid black unicorn, who leave corpse due to trident of hunting from bug temple. We change it to potion together with snake from beyond.
We check restocks of shops, push extra point of to damage on sword with scrolls of increase damage and go deeper.

D44: we try provoking vaults with javelin of doom at this point.
Instead we ob tain very light corruption and manage to hunt down gnoll.
D45: Ireth is excited again. Regular vault we detect items – nothing, detect monsters — white dragons and a room of hill giants
We use some crystals of powr and health here. Ireth claims that AMW is awful. But it appears to be very very useful. We get two potions of quickling blood here. Both are blessed and drunk immediately.
Another corruption kicks in giving Ireth antennae on temples. She groans that path to being a god is way too hard.
She also nails level35. Dodge refuses to give any chance of increase so we take that is possible. Survival goes at 100 here.
D46: gives us greater vault, which appears to be undead.
Item detection and magic mapping – reveals some stuff in small chambers, presumably whirlwind and some weapon (not emerald dagge that would be green, and executor is black.)
We are crazy enough to try teleporting into room and trying teleport lich king out (couldn’t stop myself from doing thisL). Ireth loses some learning and strength, before we leave small chamber with no gain.
While doing all this Ireth manages to get mana battery corruption, she absorbs bunch of wands and removes it.
D47: very uninteresting.
D48: deal with guardians (grues, chaos wizard) for experience without real problems.
Ireth gets vigor— and I decide keeping it. Well, according to my calculation it is not that awful. Scars are related to hp regeneration due to corruption ijn my opinion. Since our short term healing is covered by regeneration and long term with heap if high end healing potions…
RNG tries killing Ireth with one more gorgon, but we use amulet of petrification yet again.
Earth grue gives lv36 – we get straight road to talent screen and pick -- affinity to crossbows.
We get back to d47 to search for another stairs.
Ul1: ireth gets covered with tough corrupted scales.
Ul2: drops a hostile great karmic wyrm, who goes down with five quarrels of dragon slaying.
Ul3: gives very uninteresting mixed tension room.
Ul4: Ireth hears strange thumbing sound. We deal with greater titan by killing it in darkness. Very easy obtained heap of experience.
We find entrance to blue dragon caves here.
Sharad-Waador: ”You should kill my archenemy or die trying.”
Ireth silently starts drawing her bow.
Sharad-Waador: “Immediately!!!”
Me: ”Mistress, we need that quest for you to become goddess, please…”

We drop some valuable stuff and go down.
Dl2: gives some thumbing sound and bunch of hill giants. We evade these with cloak of invisibility.
Dl3: Ireth gets stuck between blink dog madness, ancient blue dragons and greater moloch. Once these are dead she reaches level 37 and gets some dodge. It was not that bad fight since it cost us only one potion of extrahealing.
DL4: as boring as such place can be.
Dl5: We drag some dragons up clearing area around stairs.
Use cloak of invisibility, wand of monster detection and scroll of magic map to locate blue ancient wyrm.
We start job by clearing that area from blue ancient dragons. Ireth gets level38 and bulging cranium. We teleport resurface from blue dragon caves, remove that stupid corruption (mainly due to toughness issues) and load some stuff like wands of paralyzation, dragon slaying ammo.
Bolts of paralyzation fails but dragon slaying quarrels do wonders.
This time we shoot down wyrm in honest fight. Without blinding him before, I mean.
Ireth goes to level 39 straight to talents again and we pick very quick.
We found potion of education, which lands on... metallurgy.
We loose our first pair of 7lb in some lightning bolts.
Also Ireth notices one point of dexterity is down. Probably first scar.
Some ancient dragons give Ireth level40 – no skill raises again and we get calming power. Somehow I doubt we will ever need that.
DL2: we hunt down thumbing sound. It appears to be just titan.
As we get rewards Ireth draws a bow and Sharad Waadow goes down within 15 shots.
Ireth gets level 41 and some drops from wyrm.
Ul5: some mobs get Ireth to level 42, we pick greased lightning here.
This level contains river, so we magic map it and teleport to downstairs. Map scrolls from bug temple are very nice.
Ul6: We met real chaos power in form of balor. Unluckily our speed is around 150 so ireth uses hit and retreat tactics. (It is more hit, hit and retreat.)
Iret gets apish corruption and we keep it. Strength increase is nice, but I do not like fact it messes with dexterity into toughness line.

Mana temple: Wee dig into corridor around temple, manually detect all the traps and search for door. As magic eyes are down we zap wand of far slaying on one point to wake up archmage. And elven girl keeps killing guys in doors until everything gets dark. We switch orb for torch, put extra means of confusion resitance and proceed on slaying chaos folk.
After a half day’s job we get archmage into corridor. Ireth throws potion of confusion at his clever face and we advance for slicing him down.
Poor guy shows very little resistance. Ireth gets level 43 and before we leave temple chaos kicks again giving elf ten eyes. We scroll remove that (I like dexterity there it is).
On way back in Ul1 Ireth gets and eats quickling king corpse.
We trade in corpse for extra potion of cure corruption.
We bless heap of potions of healing with broking/repairing trick to get hitpoints through 700 limit.
We make visit to dwarftown and elder is very happy with gnolls fur. Happy enough to provide some extrahealing potions and even one potion of gain attributes.
While dropping stuff in shop we notice to have:
rune covere trident (I do not remember delivery but hoarding tactics helps),
wyrmlance (got in blue dragon caves I guess, could be usefull there)
large eternium shield,
also eternium halberd of deavatstaion 8d7+14.
And not interesting stuff lets us scratch 0.5 million in pure gold.
Ireth sacrifices it all, but still is at very close. Luckily that is enough to get crowning (As true adventures we put AMW before praying).
Fire immunity is sure good, but gift… What use is for merchant of gauntlets of eternal peace?
What is Ayssia smoking in her bungalow at heaven?

As we have both light corruptions it seems wise to visit rift and library. Appears we managed to leave all climbing sets in d45. Ireth gets ten chaos eyes again while fetching it.
Rift:
We do fall despite of ankh, bracers of war and both light corruptions.
Probably having 19k stones weight of inventory doesn’t help much.
Rl3: RNG still tries to kill Ireth with gorgons, luckily trusty amulet of petrification din’t brake while falling.
Library: we start with detect moinsters trick, which doesn’t show something awful (like emperor liches.) Instead some stupid drake manages to burn away girdle of giant strength.
We get in dopleganger king(which goes down to our sword before we figure out who it was), we also met shadow wyrm, four quickling queens, two diamond golems, werewolf king and some minor stuff like ancient dragons.
Ireth does good effort on learning spells, while I count turns towards weird tome.
She even manages to learn acid ball.
Once with book and still not at level 45 we decide to check bottom of rift.
RL1: gives threatening room with skeletal kings. Thay give Ireth long waited level45. As talent we take affinity with thrown spears(yes, I pressed that intentionaly).
Rl8 makes some break from boredom because it has river.
We return to our base in dwarftown and I do some smithing on shield. Once eternium ore is over it reaches [+19,+11] and that is a large one. Not tower. And I do not get “despite your efforts” type messages
As we leave I see magnificent view: Waldenbrook is restocking…

Waldenbrook: “C’mmon we can squeeze in a bit more in my shop. We just need to push together.”
Ireth: “Have you got crazy? Shop is already overloaded with stuff of mine.”
Waldenbrook “Freaking union doesn’t allow me to have exclusive supplier. Could you give a hand in pushing?”

The assassin guild: pretty unexciting -prince gives quest while hostile and we get rid of him.
We descend in ID as fast as possible. Having appointment at ID33. Ireth gets mana batterycorruption and we decide keep it.
Quickling bard dies to acid ball and we hit road up.
Ireth: “I have strange feeling. Something like déjà vu.”
Me: “Yes. All levels are very similar.”
Ireth just shakes her head.
(Well, I have crash forcing me to redo all Filk quest and scintillating caves. Cause was speaking about last quest with elder while having scroll. I tested same situation later, after making backup, and that crashed again.)
We make fast deal with ministrel, getting some scrolls and location of scintillating caves.
In caves: We use invisibility to stop lesser mobs, which doesn’t give much experience anyway.
Upper part is pretty boring except SC3 having a river and sc6/7 featuring two ant colonies.
Dissension gives Ireth sulphuric corruption.
Sc8 we hear thumbing sound but proceed down.

Lair of emperor: as soon as we descend, we magic map it, detect monsters, teleport and use hit and run tactics. Corruption kicks again giving stiff muscles.
As emperor moloch is critically wounded and running away like coward, Ireth slows herseld for experience gain and chases big guy down.
She hits levels 46/47/4/498—getting last talent - missile master.
We bravely use open tension of chaos snakes On SC8 for further xp.
They give us lv50 and item creation spell. Ireth drains her power into this before we hit wilderness again.
We check our things in dwarftown, we fix n- into n= with some monetary injection.
Get the trident from Khelavaster (sage is perfectly visible to my surprise) and notice lack of potion of uselessness. I check item memory and no we never identified such.
Try rawchaos gambit on high end (like boost perception) potions with no luck. At least that provides us with some water, which is blessed immediately.
We check scroll shops for last time, bless all remaining scrolls of defense and protection and use them.
On way down Ireth gets her feet transformed into hooves, which makes her very very angry.
We drop mana orb first and use prayer restore power points.

Me: “I am afraid companions can’t go further, mistress.”
Ireth: “You served me good. I won’t charge you for all damage and stupid things you caused. You can kiss my hand in a sign of thankfulness.”
Me: “Yes, mistress.”
Ireth: “And do not tell any stupid stories, because than I become goddess… You better do not angry me than.”
Me: “Yes, you highness.”
And Ireth was gone into cold of fearsome ice on D49.
Rest is only fairy tales and songs ad I have not witnessed that.

I'm sorry for pushing things straight to end. this has two reasons:
main - my real life is quite in a mess and i can mainly play... at work. which is not very exciting.
secondary voting activity dropped bellow crititcal mark (i always thought critical edge was five voices).

appendix A
general thoughts:
i did play some merchants before. My best dark elf merchant died somewhere around earth temple and I did had gnome merchant as a winner. So i knew that this is going to be.

scum used:
mining with gemology at 100. pretty powerful. at least i needed to sink skill raises into this.

smithing: it is meant to use anyway.

shop restocks: she was merchant anyway.

race and class combo: chalenging at least and is meant to be such.
early game: gold coins help at very start, but toughness is extremely low. Well, Ireth was lucky to get 4points in PV(shield and two rings) before engaging in her first combat.
Speed is essential in my opinion, long stride and quick being early choices. Way to recover is also at must. Well, nearlyt all my merchants and farmers kill poor healer ASAP.

Mid game: problematic before you hit herbs. having toughness at least at 25 releases pressure. Smithing is very essential so probably dwarven smith must be killed as he is easier opponent and killable quite early.
Preferable sequence should be mining ogre cave with gemology at 100 and coroded pickaxe, killing dwarf for anvil, smithing stuff up.
Once trained with herbs and smithing done combo can hold it's own.

Late game:
damage output is nmost serious problem. Somehow merchants get lousy increases on to damage on levelups. So decent weapon is needed.
Anything high metal of penetration or decent artifact - skullcrusher, executor, emerald dager...
personally i would rate penetration above slaying properties.
Late switch in weapon class seems to be quite okay. Ireth did that on Lv 30.

Class powers: except for doubled carrying capacity - sucks or sucks heavily.

Things new to myself:
-confused orc doing waterwalk,
-abusing gemology without mining,
-using crystals of learning up to stat at 30 (I must admit in my previous atempts they stopped at 25-26, but my chars had reached they potential maximum)
-falling into rift with both light corruptions,
-using water to hold down dwarven artificer,
-using smith room in dwarftown as safe place to hold items.

things i do regret:
-not finishing frog quest.
-not trying that eternium halberd of devastation in practice

RNG: C'mmon i got RoDS and bracers of war before ToEF. I can't complain.
