Well, seeing as how alot of new threads are being started for about nothing, I have created a general thread for everybody's current characters, just like Blacklion did before.

First entry:
Im playing a human archer. I have mentioned him before, because he got precrowned with preserver, natures companion and bracers of war.

He was paused during the cursed challenge, but is now awakened from hibernation. Level 33, currently fighting a lesser blue dragon vault on D:46. Casino had crap, cat lord was bypassed (had no detect inv). Bypassed air temple, cleared earth, bypassed a greater undead vault n(mabye later). I'm pretty confident in this guy.

I've had a highlevel archer before, two years ago or so. So I wanted to try it out again, and test those nifty class powers at high levels.

Saw a pool in D:40something, decided to take a sip just for the heck of it. What do you wish for? And this was when I just started playing him again, so I didn't really remember what stuff I had or needed. But it occured to me that find weakness might be an okay skill to have.

I am currently playing King Moloch, a trollish fighter who's participating in my roleplaying challenge.....

Currently I am level 10 I believe, though I hit like a level 25. I went to holeinthewall, got pickpockets, and killed mugger for first killl.(ocg maybe....)

Got healing from Kranf, then got cash to convert altar on UD:7....so lucky of me to have on that level. Unfortunately however, I am already 30 years old from aging......

I sacced and sacced, then got crowned(yes, crowned, I did want vanquisher quick...) and received acid immunity and protector...now, let me tell you: it was very hard to accept the fact that I can't have vanquisher with every barbarian, fighter, and necromancer I play, so I continued...quite well, actually.

I started playing around with my adamantanium hammer, and a scimitar of penetration, and an adamantanium mace too, and unarmed, all the way to Dwarftown. Along the way I destroyed a hob/goblin lesser vault...and I thought I found an artifact....

Made it to dwarftown, was day 23, surprisingly fast for troll. (Oh, I forgot to mention: I cleared puppy cave vault)
I sold stuff, and got quests from leader....and he asked me to kill a vapor rat?!?!? So here I am, stomping through the CoC, when all of a sudden my sword kills a vapor rat!!! So I go back up to Dwarftown, and get my reward, and id my equipment...and I was correct, I had Ironfist. So now my strength is 38, and I go down a little further in Coc(D:14), and there's one of those mixed vaults that has tons of summoners in it...so I kill tons of enemies, and receive some stuff, but not a ton since vortices were summoned...Currently protector was a very nice asset to my equipment set. So that's where I am right now....can't wait to see what happens with this character, very nice, though I miss herbalism.

On the side besides my King Moloch, I am currently trying to get a mindcrafter going, maybe the ultimate if I feel like it. I am particularly fond of dwarvish mindcrafters, since they have mining and smithing, and aren't physically weak. I was trying dark elves, but the weakness was too pathetic...besides, no one else has a dwarvish mindcrafter in high score list. I also plan on getting cow axe with a future mindcrafter, seeing as how it deals massive damage in melee.

Decided to try another troll assassin, as my previous one was very strong, but died at level 16... I just had to attack the assassin prince :p Went to SMC, retrieved the blanket, found the staircase, and killed Kranach. Went to the Puppy cave, got the corpse, converted to N (found an altar) then went to VD to get Healing. On VD1 a water trap was generated and a gremlin... you can imagine what happened. I pick-pocketed and killed 600 gremlins before I decided it was enough... had quite a lot of scrolls of identify and uncursing,
too bad I couldn't read. Went to CoC next, where I found a couple of vaults but nothing exciting. Dwarven elder asked me to kill a ratling thief, so I spent some time in the Big Room before I found one. After I killed the ratling and got myself a potion of literacy, I wanted to do the dwarf's second quest. On D10, just above Dwaftwon, I got a surge of power. Suuk, the orc chieftain, was guarding Ironfist. He was easy, much more dangerous was the lightning vortex next to him. Disposed of them both and took my prize. On my way to the Animated Forest I came across a tension room of lightning lizards, a very nasty surprise as I didn't get any message... the lizards kept shocking me from outside my LoS. For some reason, they didn't do damage too often (Ironfist helped, perhaps).Had to pray a couple of times, but I managed to kill them I decided to pass through DH, but an emperor ogre was guarding DH1 and he was quite tough :( I couldn't kill him, so I blessed my two SoMP and read two scrolls of teleportation (had TC from blink dogs). After I completed my quest, I went deeper and deeper until I came across Khelly. Didn't have an AoLS. The chaos servants surrounding him saw me and attacked, I pick-pocketed each one of them and then killed them. To my delight, among the pile of loot lay and ordinary ring. Yup, RoDS :P Ironic, isn't it? The only thing that could save Khelavastar was so close yet so far. BTW, thanks Molach for the tip, you posted some time ago that you usually get RoDS from pick-pocketing Khelly's chaos servants :P First time I got a RoDS from them in 3 attempts.
So now I saved Khelly, am level 11 only, and it's day 30. I'm planning to spend some time "chilling" in the ID or CoC to get some stuff, maybe to the gremlin spam :). I really need some better equipment, I have 33/22 :(. Luckily, I found a ring of invisibility (which I'm using to get back to Dwarftown through the Animated Forest) and a Ring of regeneration. I don't think this char will be a winner, but I'm getting further and further by playing carefully. No attacking the Assassin Prince this time, though :)

Dunno, with your luck so far Mewto, you may win. I personally suggest that you consider getting the minotaur emperor's axe, your backstabbing will kill anything with that weapon. Trolls slow exp gain is easily countered by just going in deep CoC earlier.

Heh, just advanced to level 12: A lot more deadly at backstabbing :P Works very well with my Ring of invisibility. My main problem is my weapon :/ I'm using a mith scimmy, I'm planning to go Darkforge, teleport into the weapon stash and out... in my past two games I always found Wymrlance there.
BTW, I have about 15k to Garth and with a ring of Le+1 I have 15 Le now. Not bad for an assassin. Just remembered, with my last char, who died yesterday, I had two potions of wonder. Drank them both and gained knowledge in Lightning Bolt and Wish, rofl. Needed almost 6k PP to cast Wish :(

Eh, it's 9:10 P.M. over here....

King Moloch has just finished all of the dwarven quests, except for nonnak. He's only level 11 too:D

I plan on going to get RotHK next before Pyramid, then Pyramid, then darkforge for needed experience, and then if strong enough, tackle ToEF. I have 37 strength with ironfist on, because the stupid greater demon took away 3 strength while I was luring him to Glod. I have mithril and adamantite armor, big punch and protector, so I'm good on weapons till I get Cow Axe. I've given up on idea of OCG, this roleplay character will just go for regular win. I've found that in the past that with chaotics, it's very hard to not be extremely corrupted by endgame, despite the fact that you should be....it just happens naturally. King Moloch has 49 DV and 29 PV , since big punch took away 6 dv unfortunately. My acid immunity is of no help whatsoever, usually there are tons of acid vortices to kill me, but now since I have immunity to them, they NEVER appear...all I get are lightning ones which are my second most hated....

King Moloch is doing quite well, and I will be greatly dissappointed if he dies.

I recently finished graveyard(well, not completely..), except for some ghosts that aged me to middle aged...stupid master lich.

This is the first game ever that I've picked pockets alot. Before this I just picked pockets to get Detect Traps, but I still do it since I've found lots of cash and water to bless with it.

I did the Pyramid, very easy with ring of damage and ring of slaying, plus a ring of invis for backup. Stupid wall beast drained 1 strength from me...but I used Improved Fireball(yes, from wand of wonder, cost me 57 pp from memory, but tons of HP made it feel like nothing) and got him scared with it. Going back to Dwarftown to get portal opened. I spent 40k gold to train learning, since I spent money, I have gone from 1 learning to 7. I don't like to be really stupid. My dexterity is horrific, 5 dexterity.

I killed every single dwarf in dwarftown except for special npcs, since I lured them down to ogre cave level(which has a chaotic altar in it by the way, very nice for saccing rocks), since I wanted pick axes, and I only got one:( I have mostly adamantite armor on now, I've seen one or two eternium items. Still have killed only 1 mugger,so filk will be piece of cake. I probably will attempt at darkforge next, since I want fast exp and possibly good weapons or wishes. I have a question though:

Which is better:

A: Using big punch and protector

B: Finding some nice eternium two hander or cow axe

C: Using protector and some other artifact I might find in near future.

I really don't know which is more 'moloch like' though I suspect that cow axe suits something that's huge like a moloch. I still have to gain 9 levels till I can try at maze, though I don't know if I could make it through without tons of scrolls of magic mapping. It took me 2 hours to get through it down and up with a dark elven barbarian about 2 months ago, seeing as how I didn't have a single scroll. I was chaotic too, and gained several corruptions in the process, and received Vanquisher shortly afterwards for crowning.....

I am currently trying out an archer since I have been wanting to do so for a while. This one is a Grey Elf, Duorlan. He is now level 19. This one is looking for an Ultra but I made a goblin my first kill so the ID dive will be fun... He found Serpent's Bite in the lesser vault on PC:6. His precrowning gift was only the hammer of the gods though. Now he pwns in both melee and ranged attack forms.

He just completed the Dwarven graveyard (after the CoC one I forgot about the portal silly me). Khelly was saved. I have lots of artifacts for the ratling and I still haven't generated the vial of Caladriel. I have yet to search for a boar and don't have a wand of monster creation for gaab baay. The Snake from beyond will be my PoCC. It is likely my wand of monster creation will come from animated forest/banshee scumming. This char has starved for water the whole game. High hopes...

I too got the wish spell from a potion of wonder. The only other spell I can cast is Darkness.

AND - what kind of IRON RATION weights as much as an iron shield?! A dinner for four, oven included? ;)"

King Moloch is REALLY doing well.

He has smithed up his adamanite items and mithril item nicely, also got wish in darkforge and invisibility from pools, wished for red dragon scale mail, since I don't want to have to take off iron fist and rings of slaying. Now I'm level 16, with 80 DV and 50 PV I believe. It's day 65 though. I have water temple completed, and about to do fire temple. I found a ring of ice but I don't even need it for temple. I destroyed steel golems in dark forge easily, even without rings of slaying and ironfist on, so I'm definitely ready. I imagine that I probably don't even need the minotaur axe, so I'm just not going to get it, since I've used up the two random potions of cure corruption that I've found. I plan on doing ToEF, then TotHK, SMC/UD/HMV, then if level 30, do unicorn to get PoGA, then dive down fast and kill people fast. If I don't reach level 45 'naturally', I will just kill in blue dragon caves till I reach that level, then go to scintillating cave for the very first time(actually second, first time I died:(

I'm just not too sure about corruption: Having smithed up moloch armor will definitely help on D:50, but the corruption could get severe by then...I may just close gate then do it if I have too much corruption. King Moloch is a major beast, he's stronger than my drakish healer at level 50 in DV/PV and damage. I can't go for an OCG, since I 'accidentally' killed the ratling....

Killed the ratling? Haha, that's kinda funny... To deal with corruption you're going to need to find more SoCR - weird tome and bug temple should heopfully give you enough. You probably won't be able to get the black unicorn quest since you're chaotic (so the white unicorn will just attack you), but that's probably for the best. Also for the best to miss the minotaur maze probably - the stat-drainers there are real bitches.

Big Punch and Protector sounds appropriate for the char. Heavy blunt weapons would suit a moloch I think, and Protector makes you a bit beefier. Purifier would be great if you found it, I think, but I'm not sure what else would be appropriate. Hope you get lucky :)

i've got second incarnation of Buffy. it appeared picking strong kicker as starting talent is too important.

by way it appears beastfighters tactics settings are severely influenced by wielding something or not. guess i'll be droping that wooden stake in serious situatiuons to kick some dangerous foes.

Too bad there aren't any vampires for you to slay, Soirana. I think that you venture to say that a spear would count as a wooden stake, since I take it that you're using wooden sticks for stakes.

Thanks for reminding me Darren that I can't do unicorn quest...getting crowned so dang early was stupid in a way, but the corruptions I received and the artifact are helping a ton. I doubt that I'll find Purifier as a random artifact, the most likely place would be for my uselessness gift. I already found a potion of uselessness. Am I the only that's having great success in my challenge? I personally thought that my character would prove difficult, but it's actually quite easy, except for the slow exp gain and lack of herbalism.

no vampires? i think CoC graveyard have some...

and spears are definitely out. i already made discount for using shield instead of dual wielded wooden sticks:)

basically i'm kicking through. lv11, teleport control, acid resistance, picked literacy from dark sage corpse. time to move to CoC and do some herb farming.

if i only could find any spiked boots around... couse rings of damage do not increase kicking damage.

and interaction with unarmed fighting is quite funny, i train it by kicking, but can't get any benefits even without wielding anything. so damage output is becoming a problem.

I personally think that you're not going to be able to complete challenge, the sticks aren't gonna cut it. Unless you find yourself some spiked boots and rings of slaying of course though.

King Moloch finished (partially) the ToEF, killed Wyrm, still have to kill rest of monsters there. Now I remember why I like classes that are good in melee and magic, since my willpower sucks so bad that I got confused every second...had to paralyze wyrm to kill it. Got another corruption too....the only thing in ToEF that can touch me are the fire elementals, they seem to get a couple criticals, which do 50-100 damage sometimes. I don't know if I should eat wyrm corpse or not, I think it gives 3 strength which would be nice, but not necessary...corruption will be a problem soon if no removal methods are found. May have to drink out of darkforge and risk losing some nice intrinsics or gain more aging in order to get a wish or two for SoCR....we'll see.

noob, you forgot i have left myself wands as an option.

and five seconds ago i got ordinary ring next to stairs in d8. i've just used it for find weakness. which does increase my chances.

and i've got corruption of hooves... that is at least +8 of damage.
edit: i meant if i have. my poor poor english.

also done first dwarftown quest in less than 100 turns. now i can get ready for nasty RNG surprises.

p.s. i seriously doubt rings of slaying help with kicking.

Corpse is very unlikely to increase any stat beyond 25, so it's not worth eating. Can't trade it in either though, unfortunately.

Soirana: You might want to consider making a monk version of Buffy (about as apprpriate as a beastfighter I'd say). Might help you do more damage with your kicks, as well as other monk advantages. Only problem is, as always, surviving in the early game.

darren:
Buffy is not a female monk. period.
i could consider making her normal fighter, but that doesn't give any benifits in my opinion. (well, maybe i could do a bit better with stick, but i'm fine with kicking).

i was actually thinking of playing "wiedzmin" (sort of hexer i guess) from A.Saphkowsky books. just can't squeeze him into Adom classes at all.

it is sort of thing made to fight beasts, but fights exceptionaly with sword. Also reads a hell and uses minor magic. And i can't imagine him being a paladin.

noob: What the hell happened? Get confused or stunned and walk into piranhas? If that's the case you really should know that the best thing to do when confused or stunned is try to apply pickpocketing - will let you rest on the spot for one turn instead of walking in a random direction. Commiserations anyway - you had an impressive amount of PV for such a low level char.

Darren is correct. I was confused.(note that I was cursed: even I didn't know) I didn't know that you could pick pockets to null confusion...I'm really pissed that i died, that char was tougher than alot of level 30 characters. My score is also lower than it should be since in my pile of stuff to the side had a couple artifacts and various items...I think like 300 si.....sigh....I think I might post this character to the HoF...seems worthy enough.

Besides the current challenge going on, I've been thinking of different combos....like a lawful assassin that is more of a bounty hunter than an assassin, a trollish mindcrafters.

I think that after King Moloch's death, it goes to show that corruption is just horrific for C- Chaotics...next characters are definitely gonna be lawful.

Crowned chaotics get it way worse in general - had the same trouble with my chaotic Tarindil and had to spend a lot of wishes on SoCR.

Lawful assassin sounds cool, though a bounty hunter is more neutral - in it for the money (still a lawful assassin is still feasible in the sense of say an honourable ninja that performs operations for its master, killing himself if he fails in his task). Trollish mindcrafter would be pretty good early on, but the difficulty gaining levels would hit mindcrafters by far the hardest of any class I think.

As for nullifying the affects of confusion (or stunning) there are a few ways. Applying a skill like Concentration or Pick Pockets will get a fail message, but it wastes a turn. Same for casting spells, using certain items, etc. They won't help get rid of the confusion, but they'll stop you wandering places you don't want to go. Prayer will also always remove the confusion (assuming it gets answered). These are all vital to know when surrounded by chaos piranhas...
