Here's a thread reserved for funny ADOM messages. I'll start. --Trying to be as accurate as possible...

"The hill orc does not seem to own anything of value. The hill orc suddenly panics!"

Heh. I feel the same way when I have to pay a bill.

"The orc hits you". "Your looks improve"

That was one ugly character ;)

This was a funny message and a boring message at the same time:

"You lose blood! The bleeding stops. You die... (more)"

Well, now that 1.0.0 is out, we can not be sure if TB has fixed the bug or not. If I encounter the same message in 1.0.0 though, I'll report it.

Press shift-C and then 5. "Talking to yourself again?"

As I said in another post, I found a scroll labeled "IBM Manual." Reading it gave me the message "You try to read the IBM manual. You become permanently confused!"

Troll eating a hurthling cake: "You eat the hurthling cake... duh, there wasn't any hurthling in it!" I cracked up when I read that.

On the rare occasions when a kobold isn't hostile, it will bark at you like a dog. (what the heck is a kobold, anyhow?)

Talk to a black hurthling and it asks you if you've seen the One Ring. (why are hobbits called hurthlings in this game?)

Pickpocket yourself. "Pick your own pockets? You succeed." <:D

There are some inaccuracies in the responses of some monsters -- like the ones that say "Die!" when they aren't hostile.

Amanda Sedai: A kobold is a kind of imaginary creature that exists in several fantasy stories. They are like humanoid canines. If you've ever played Suikoden (I or II), you'd know. If you are still curious, the monster memory can tell you a description (Either [l]ook at one and hit [m]ore or type & then "kobold").

Oh yeah, forgot hobbits were copyrighted.

Thanks for the kobold description. I realized I could "look" at them after I posted, but it's interesting to know Thomas didn't make them up.

There's a key that lets you change the names of monsters and yourself, right? Because I accidentally hit some key by mistake that caused my screen to show the message "The ugly monster is named Amanda." Ugly monster?! Thanks a lot...

The default key to name/rename a monster/your character is 'n'.

IME, the message is "This ugly monster is already named "<foo>"." when you're renaming your character. In any case, I suppose that message is just a lil (mean) joke from TB. :)

Odd thing that "This ugly monster...". Even when I renamed a character with Ap >20 it still was "ugly monster". HOW high Ap must one have to get somethin else ? Or is it a fixed msg ? Has anyone tried renaming PC with Ap 99 and is the message still same.

About funny messages. One not so funny is if you try Dispel Undead on yourself - "You are still alive !" - Oh, thanks for telling, wouldn't have known...

"The zombie is slightly dead"

Just out of curiosity...
