I thought it was black dragons... Oh well. I'd say Wyrmlance would be better than the 2-handed sword of penetration - quite curious to test that now actually.

Personally I prefer not to be hit through having supreme DV, which is more easily achieved through further shield training. I guess we'll all up alternating as we do whatever we want :P

Well, I'll have to wait until either tonight or tomorrow to do fend off the black dragon hordes (they are black). I'll think about what i want to do in the meantime.

They're black? My mistake, then. Use whatever you want (I have had bad experiences with Wyrmlance in a dragon vault... DV and PV shouldn't be TOO low), and you should remember that dragons tend to destroy items with their breath if you let them...

(Incidentally, I wouldn't start training axes for our axe of penetration if we don't use it anyway for fear of it being destroyed...)
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

Well, I sent it on to the next person, and here's the game report! Will post the screenshot asap.

NOTE: We are heavily weighed down with junk at this point, so to the next person in line, feel free to drop TONS of stuff!

~1000 turns
Gained 2 Levels - Chose Backstabbing x7, Dodge, First Aid, Detect Traps, Haggling, Stealth
Lost the cursed cloak of protection, random consumables (important stuff was dropped before hand), and some of the items
dropped by the dragons, all to acid breath
There remains a group of 28 Ancient Black Dragons (1 Named), in the not fully explored portion of the Northwest corner of the
map. Did a few minor things, but there has otherwise been insufficient time for the dragons to roam (I know, i
shouldn't have let them out in the first place if i didn't want to fight them).
Some treasure I realized we didn't have before - Whip of the Snake, Potion of Uselessness
(if we didn't have one already). Not much else, I don't think, besides random lewts
	and tons of gold

Went down to D:38

Uncursed the mithril cap, Identified inventory, blessed our potions of water
Blessed our 7LB's, used our scrolls to make them [+8, +1].
Blessed our scrolls of increase melee accuracy/damage, and used them as follows:
	Battle axe of penetration - from +0 to +6, 1d6+4 to 1d6+9
Adamantium broadsword of devastation - +1 to +5
Boozed/charged the wand of teleportation, and used it some, currently at 5 uses
Blessed our potions of troll blood, and drank.
Blessed and drank our potion of education, gained Alchemy and Food Preservation (!!!!).
Pretty good, if i say so myself.
Blessed and drank potion of dex, +2
Left potion of potential "X", didn't know whether or not I should drink them or not.
Blessed our Crystals of Knowledge (1 +1 I found), gained no learning? (Did I do something wrong?
Blessed them and then used them...)

Gained the "You have grown a total of 12 eyes (Ap: -6, Pe: +6)" corruption.

Ended on D:38, after wasting tons of turns clearing a tension room in the NE corner
(Some monsters are likely still alive, stuff is still on the ground because i ran out of turns...
dang people not watching their turn counters =P)

Yay for Alchemy !
Yay for Food Preservation !
You got two skills from one potion ?

> Blessed our Crystals of Knowledge
> (1 +1 I found), gained no learning?

When the LE stat is high, it is pretty
unlikely that a CoK will give a boost.
If you had utilized sickness, to lower
the stats beforehand, then they would
have worked fine. Rhea's LE is pretty
good as it is, so it's not a big loss.

Am I missing something, did we stash the
SoCR somewhere? I was just browsing
through the .vlg file, and only saw a
couple of non-blessed ones.

Ill check the file from before my turn, but i only ever recalled seeing 1 scroll. Certainly, none got burned on my turn, as i stashed all my scrolls, beforehand, and i am 100% sure that i picked up all the items i stashed, as the room i had put them in was still unoccupied, the door still being closed, and the stash spot totally empty.

checked the file i received, the only SoCR's i had were 1 uncursed, 1 cursed.

Checked my VLG, only SoCR's i had were 1 uncursed, 1 cursed.

So if we lost SoCR, it most likely was dissolved in the turn before mine =(
Or hopefully was stashed somewhere else and as-of-yet unmentioned

EDIT: Oh yea, unfortunately, the levels i gained came before i used the potions of education, or else i would've used the skill-ups on Alchemy/Food Preservation =(

I'm fairly sure the SOCRs are safely stashed in the ogre cave along with a few other items (some stat potions there if I remember correctly).

Well done on a good game. I presume you used the sword and shield against the vault, since we gained a considerable number of marks in each. And dear Christ, how did you get an extra two points of toughness without eating any morgia? I must presume one point was from a PoGA, since I note that every stat has increased by at least one.

The fact that we're strained at the moment is shambolic - Rhea has double carrying capacity from her class and is wearing a blessed girdle of crarrying. May I ask why we're carrying 13 rations and a grizzly bear corpse?

Well, I never used a PoGA or Morgia, the only stat I was aware of being boosted was dex, due to the potion. Chances are, when/if it happened, i didn't notice. I'm used to the colored messages of ADOM Sage popping up for anything like that, so i don't miss it. Great luck, i guess?

I used a combination of sword/shield some and Berserking Eternium 2h (i found it to be more effective than wyrmslayer, btw) in clearing what i did of the vault and D38.

Oh, and that was just me picking up everything as i went...i had planned on parsing it down after finishing D38, but i plain ran out of turns =p plus, im a MAJOR packrat when i plan, i hate dropping stuff when i could keep it and sell it later (even though i realize the gold is pointless, i just can't help it).

EDIT: Not to mention, I don't think subconscious posted a screenshot, so all we see there is the difference from vogonpoet to me.

I'll say, we have mighty amounts of entirely useless junk there which we can sell for fortunes! Our dear Rhea, always the merchant...

EDIT: Incidentally, this is the threehundredth and first post for the Roman Republic game, and it has been pretty much exactly a month since we started... Think we'll reach 500 before Rhea wins?

Just think, if we all played like Gut, we would only have had one go each, and Rhea would have closed the gate weeks ago.

I think the game will speed up a bit now though - at the beginning it tends to be messier - diving up and down, crossing the wilderness, etc. There is really no need for our heroine to do anything other than dive down and kick ass now.

I don't understand leaving our SoCR behind.
D:50 is where you need them, not after. That's
what the unicorn is for. Probably just lost in
the shuffle. I suppose that someone could take the shortcut back and get them. It would most
likely take over 1000 turns though, to do that
and return.

I disagree on diving down and kicking ass - personally I think there's been a bit too much haste. Rhea's strength now is about the same I'd normally have after clearing the Fire temple, but instead we're pushing on Earth and Mana. We've got some nice weapons, but no random artifacts, poor St and To, low HP and few resistances. We can't take a frontal assault from the Ancient Stone Beast and his kin, and we sure as hell don't have the HP to survive a couple of death rays from Nuurgy (though we do have 3 sources of resistance at least - whoever takes him on should remember Trusted One, since we'll likely be taking him down with humanoid slaying ammo). Nothing's been bought from the casino, which normally holds a few key items - has anyone reported on what's actually there? Any artifacts...? I can't imagine a game without BoW or Preserver :(

Looking back through the reports I think the SoCRs were dumped under Dwarftown before the fire temple and the high kings. The person who failed to pick them up before we started the dive was... ah, right, was me :/ Must say I wasn't expecting us to go so far without resurfacing though - normally I'd come back up after the casino to do the Rift and bug temple. Anyway, I don't mind making the trip back up when it comes to my turn to recover whatever's left in our stash and pick up some more morgia too.

Have I gone mad? I thought I gave a screen shot of R Rhea holding everything in the Casino in the other thread???

I just checked. Second page, second post.

Only artifact generated was the Obsidian quarrel, which to be honest, I didn't really consider worth mentioning. At all. Ever.

Well hot diggity damn, I completely missed that out. My sincerest apologies! Hmm, well now, let's have a look through the shoping aisles...

uncursed black dragon scale mail (-1, -3) [-2, +11] (unpaid, 115576gp)

- slightly better than our current armour, and provides a new immunity, though it's a bit pricey

uncursed thick gauntlets (-1, -2) [+0, +4] (unpaid, 3571gp)

- very nice, especially since our other pair have mysteriously disappeared

uncursed eternium girdle [+0, +7] (unpaid, 41827gp)

- tasty

uncursed seven league boots [+1, +0] (unpaid, 12376gp)

- backup is essential

blessed adamantium spear of devastation (+4, 5d8+12) (unpaid, 107321gp)

- now this is awesome! It's better than our current sword, and we have higher skill level in polearms already.

bundle of 7 blessed arrows of dragon slaying (+3, 1d6+6) (unpaid, 13048gp)

- we have lots of slaying ammo already, but dragon slaying would be nice, especially if we want to go for Barney (or even use the AKW for xp)

heap of 5 uncursed potions of water (unpaid, 2750gp)
uncursed potion of education (unpaid, 4122gp)

- nice to have

Gambling only takes one turn, so one of us should really pick up this loot some time.

> I disagree on diving down and kicking ass

Definitely something to think about. On the one
hand, I don't think we would have the slightest
bit of trouble, handling anything but the Archmage,
and even he can *probably* be handled with the
right tactics. On the other hand, the surface
holds morgia, and SoCR. I'm fine with any path
we take.

> normally I'd come back up after the casino to
> do the Rift and bug temple

I really hope we stay away from the BUGWIL with
this PC. It's got death written all over it. The
rift might be fun for someone, but who wants to
use their 2000 turns to get the SoCR's : )

> Anyway, I don't mind making the trip back up
> when it comes to my turn

Remember, your turn comes after mine. You will
most likely be standing 2 spaces away from a very
ticked off Archmage : )

I like that sig. I still do wonder, what could
Waldenbrook possibly WANT with that corpse...?

Good point on rift and bug temple - neither are worth going for with Rhea. Perhaps the blue dragon caves will provide the necessary experience and treasure. There's morgia on D26 - anyone popping to the Casino could get there quite easily.

>Remember, your turn comes after mine. You will
>most likely be standing 2 spaces away from a very
>ticked off Archmage : )

Well Nuurgy's never actually managed to hurt me - I always pop him off with some humanoid slayers before he gets a chance to do a death ray. I imagine with Rhea it might be worth using all her boost speed potions for that temple, since they won't really be needed elsewhere and they help a lot to keep the summons under control.

>I like that sig. I still do wonder, what could
>Waldenbrook possibly WANT with that corpse...?

Finished with my turn. She's at the Air Temple. The level above the air temple contains (in a cache) the useless items and (on the stairs) the useful items I don't want to lose to lightning.

I took down a couple of molochs and a master lich, but no gained level yet. Got Swords 10 though.

If you plan to kill the white horsey, you will
probably not be able to avoid being a fallen
champ. An amulet of balance would help. Maybe
also use an overshot missile for a first attack.
If there are any scrolls of balance, you could
check one, and use a whip to get well into N+
first.

Even with a best case scenario, I think Rhea
would still wind up as firmly C. We wouldn't be
losing much though: The 'blessed' status isn't
that important, the reduced food consumption
would be only a small pain, and we aren't really
going for score anyway. It's fine by me, as long
as I'm not the one who has to do the deed : )

I'm definitely glad the 7LB's weren't blasted.

I would have liked to have seen a video of that Air

Despite being stone giant lords they did not even scratch the wyrm, no one did. I was quite glad I was wearing a ring of the clear mind when a Master lich was summoned, and a ghost king managed to hit me once. Courage would have been very helpful there. The lich was killed by an air elemental after a fight ensued due to a bouncing lightning bolt. Also despite wearing a ring of invisibility, I was bloated most of my turn, so I didn't munch on any of our morgia.

[double edit] Forgive my absent-mindedness, just remembered that I forgot to post a crucial character development. I found a pool and recieved paralysis resistance, teleportitis (we have control) and a learning reduction.
