Read the earlier posts about Tarindil's joining, and the stone giant lord. A battle with some ogres in the UD as we came back up, and Ramriez roasting blink dog after we got out.

I didn't read the earlier posts, 'cause I wasn't interested in the story until it turned out to be actually good.

Er, well, it'd kinda help you keep up consistency if you could read it all. I know it's a lot, but otherwise we might run into lots of problems.

Okay, important change of events: Ramirez and Tarindil are off to face Hotzy (maybe check out the water dragon too). Meanwhile, Lawf'okong will want to go to the pyramid ASAP, and not knowing where the others have gone will press on. So for a little while we'll be split. Should make the pyramid battles more interesting, cause with 6 of us it'd kinda be a walkover. Hopefully by the end of this Tar and Ram will be back to almost friendly terms.

(Small note about the first battle there: Tarindil is born in Raven which helps see through doppelgangers. Jarlgan gets -Conf from bracers of war, whilst Lawf'okong gets -Conf from Protector. Whadar is so mentally screwed up from excessive drinking that confusion doesn't work properly on him.)

Nice tale Darren, enjoyed reading it, are you sure you're not playing Ramirez and I'm playing Tarindil? lol. Do you mind if I make up backstory for Tarindil in my posts? I've never do it with other peoples characters because I'm usually aware that they might not think along the same lines as me, but if I've got your approval, I'll throw a few bits in here and there.

I've got a nice backstory as to why Ramirez left his homeland, which I should hopefully fully written tonight, but if not, it can wait for a few posts anyway. Sorry I didn't get to catch up with you again after you went shopping, but I see you used the ideas very well indeed.

Where are Thurgin and the Gnome going to go? And the orc? Maybe the orc could go see the barbarian and then go on a quest to kill loads of the same creature? Whadar and Thurgin we could meet up with again in Dwarftown?
Ladies and Gentleman, take my advice. Pull down your pants, and slide on the ice.

Yeah, I don't mind you making up backstory for my character, considering I'm doing that wholesale to yours :) I do have a general skeletan of his timeline figured out though, so you might want to pass ideas by me just so they fit in, though it's vague enough that there shouldn't be any problems.

I figured the others would all go help Lawf'okong, otherwise he might have some trouble on his own (since they'd face the true version of the doppelganger demons they were fighting there, as well as Rehetep and a gang of monsters). Would also make it easier to meet up all together later before we enter the CoC.

Well, I took Whadar with me. So Battle Bunny, you can write a little about the trek along to and in the pyramid, I got the fight. This is neat, the whole group splitting for awhile thing.

Nice story so far. Just a little clearance please: while the party knows that they're gonna split up now, do they know where the other party goes (e.g. the troll and the gnome are sneaking off) or has this been talked about before? I guess that this is the first one, but just in case, I don't want to screw it up again.

Well, hmm, the troll has made it clear he needs to get to Rehetep. Tarindil and Ramirez haven't been fitting in together, and maybe it's presumed that they're away killing each other. Not sure what Jarlgan and Thurgin will get up to now - maybe dwarftown? Weird to have the orc and dwarf ending up together like that... Anyway, it's not explicit what anyone knows, so it's up to you what they presume (whether the truth or not, or simply confusion).

I originally split up the party based on a suggestion from PeanutGod saying that Ramirez might sneak away so the others could talk about him behind his back (based on what F50 said - oh, and incidentally the idea to have the two elves meet each other in the past was also PeanutGod's idea). But now it looks like it could be an interesting plot device in general. We'll do some seperate stories for a while and then weave things together later.

I wonder what me and Jarlgan are going to do. Maybe we could find Blup's mom.

PS: we have of 51,000 words in this story already.

PPS: ack, looking at page seven and wondering why I can't see my post.

Should be interesting, Jarlgan and Thurgin could see assasin's guild, gremlin cave, or accidentally stumble into ToEF..dunno,your decision.

Thurgin, what ya wanna do? Old barbarian? Gremlin cave? Would be interesting getting trapped in Gremlin cave and finding Phial. Using Jarl's inner light to kill gremlins (+lawful points). I don't think we could do Blups mom, I can't swim and no water breathing. I like the idea of the orc and dwarf going to Dtown, would be fun working that out.

I'd say we're level 13 or so, maybe coming up to 15. I don't think Ramirez could take on the assassin prince, and I don't want him to either - Tarindil has to get the Filk quest later! Not to say they can't meet him though... We'll see. I was thinking of Tarindil and Ramirez finding Blup's mom, since Loli wants them too - plus I want the Raven bonus to get that trident :P Is everyone sticking to writing only about their own characters? If so then there's nothing to stop people reserving places ahead like Cat Lord Lord has done and getting stories ready in advance. Just keep an eye that you don't advance too quickly ahead of everyone else.

I think it would be wise to stick to your character and the company around him.

(in response to cat lord (IC forum advance post))

I don't think Jarlgan and Thurgin have much to "work out", especially given that Jarlgan is now N- or so. The Orc probably identifies quite well with Ramirez, and Thurgin is more likely to come to his defense to counter Tarindil's hate (that was the last he saw anyways). Lawf'okong is the one who is probably going to remain neutral.

However, Thurgin and Jarlgan are probably *quite* suspicious of Tarindil given his revelation that he knew about both Ramirez *and* Alhacrast, and Thurgin might be suspicious of both of them if/when he sees Tarindil not after Ramirez so much/at all. Especially since Thurgin probably holds a gruge as good as or better than the Elf (he just doesn't get many grudges).

No offense to Battle Bunny, but it's been 2 days since you reserved for a post, the story has kinda come to a screeching halt, according to my bro and some other people(lord of the rings kinda people, enjoy this kinda stuff). I can't imagine how long it's gonna be, cuz when Darren reserves for over 3 hours, it's like 2 pages long. So yours, Battle Bunny should be 7 pages long:D

I think Thurgin and Jarlgan have every right to be annoyed, heh. I'm surprised you took Whadar, noob. Thurgin's the only one with detect traps :P

It's not been that long since BB reserved a spot, and if he didn't then he might never get a chance to take part. There's no need for anything long either - I never intend to write long posts, they just end up that way. The fact that we're all able to develop stuff separately at the mo means that once one post is up a torrent of others will follow shortly, so there's still plenty of activity overall.

I don't bother creating ahead of time, and it would be useless as cat lord is physically first so mine would have to directly contradict his or I would have to have future knowlege. I am away for the weekend.

BB, it would be nice if you would only reserve for *one* day, given Darren and Noob's activity, and to a lesser degree, cat lord and myself, this is really bogging things down. Perhaps this wouldn't stall things for one day, maybe two. But by three everyone would have posted at least once and Darren and Noob twice if things were going relatively slowly.

Three days? Something is really wrong with my memory or my time instinct then. But then again, you always whizz through really nice parts and each of you will have posted twice before I can even reserve.

Ok, I posted. The crone was Caladrial and the phial... was well, her phial. Jarlgan and Thurgin are heading there, so F50 you get to write that. (btw, the karmic wyrm idea came from the Mad Minstrel. He talks about the crone was killed by an Karmic beings). I personally don't care about 3 days, just means we all had time to write things.
